My knowledge of sales and marketing offline, door-to-door and even on the telephone, was quite good, but my expertise in Search Engine Optimization, HTML and various forms of online business were basically clueless. It was only at the beginning of 2009, when most, if not all of my job prospects disappeared with the recession, that I looked to the internet as a viable way of generating enough income to pay the bills. I have learnt a great deal online, especially the fact that running a successful business online requires the same amount of dedication and passion as would a normal business. You also have to build honest, long-term relationships, if you expect to survive the jungle of online business. People will never buy anything, if they do not trust you.

1) It is possible to make a serious income online. 2) It's a process of 2 steps forward, 1 step backwards. 3) It gets easier from day 1 onwards.
As you venture further into various forms of online business, you will be faced with many decisions on the best course of action for you undertake. I would spend a good week scouring through the various forums, asking questions, seeking help from the many folk who are successful, and learning my trade as if it was plumbing or building. Learning is so important to your success, in fact, I would go so far as to say, it is the most important element to staying ahead of your competitors. They 'say knowledge is power', and that remains true online, offline or anywhere else you want to do business.
